How difficult is Lobuche Peak climbing compared to the EBC trek?

The EBC trek is challenging due to altitude, but not technical. Lobuche Peak is a trekking peak, but the final summit push involves basic mountaineering and glacier travel, making it more physically and technically demanding.

What is the best time to do this trip?

The best seasons are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November). These months offer clear skies, stable weather, and the best mountain views for both trekking and climbing.

Do I need prior climbing experience for Lobuche Peak?

While previous high-altitude trekking experience is recommended, technical climbing experience is not mandatory. Our professional climbing guide will provide basic training (use of ropes, ice axe, crampons) at High Camp before the summit push.

The journey begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and follows the legendary trail through Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, and Dingboche, deep into the heart of the Khumbu region. After visiting Everest Base Camp and witnessing sunrise views over Everest from Kala Patthar, the real climbing challenge begins. The summit of Lobuche Peak offers breathtaking panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Pumori, and many more snow-capped giants.

Day 01 :

Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,840m) and Trek to Phakding (2,640m) – 3–4 hours

Your adventure begins with a breathtaking mountain flight to Lukla. After landing, start your trek along the Dudh Koshi River to reach Phakding, a peaceful village surrounded by pine forests.

Day 02 :

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) – 6 hours

Cross several suspension bridges and ascend through beautiful forests to reach Namche Bazaar, the vibrant Sherpa capital. Catch your first glimpse of Mt. Everest on the way.

Day 03 :

Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar

Rest and acclimatize today with a short hike to Everest View Hotel or Khumjung village. Explore Namche’s local market, bakeries, and museums.

Day 04 :

Trek from Namche to Pangboche (3,900m) – 6 hours

Continue the trail through Tengboche, home to the region’s largest monastery. Descend and then climb gently to Pangboche, offering great views of Ama Dablam.

Day 05 :

Trek from Pangboche to Ama Dablam Base Camp, then continue to Dingboche (4,360m) – 6 hours

Visit Ama Dablam Base Camp for amazing views and then head to the yak pasturelands of Dingboche. The terrain becomes more alpine and open.

Day 06 :

Acclimatization Day in Dingboche

Use this day for rest and altitude adaptation. Optional hike to Nagarjun Hill (~5,100m) for panoramic mountain views.

Day 07 :

Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,930m) – 5 hours

Walk past memorial monuments dedicated to climbers and ascend gradually toward Lobuche. The mountain views get closer and more dramatic.

Day 08 :

Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep (5,164m) and Visit Everest Base Camp (5,364m) – 6–7 hours

After a tough hike to Gorakshep, drop your bags and continue to the legendary Everest Base Camp. Enjoy the glacier views and surrounding peaks before returning to sleep in Gorakshep.

Day 09 :

Hike to Kala Patthar (5,545m), return to Lobuche – 5–6 hours

Early morning hike to Kala Patthar for stunning sunrise views over Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse. Return to Gorakshep for breakfast, then descend to Lobuche.

Day 10 :

Trek from Lobuche to Lobuche Peak High Camp (5,400m) – 3–4 hours

Leave the main EBC trail and ascend steep alpine terrain to Lobuche Peak High Camp. Your climbing guide will provide a briefing and gear check.

Day 11 :

Summit Lobuche East Peak (6,119m) and Descend to Pheriche (4,280m) – 9–10 hours

Start the summit push early morning. Use fixed ropes, crampons, and ice axe as needed. After reaching the summit, descend carefully to High Camp and continue down to Pheriche.

Day 12 :

Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar – 6–7 hours

A long but scenic trek downhill through Pangboche, Tengboche, and across the Dudh Koshi River brings you back to the bustling hub of Namche.

Day 13 :

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla – 6–7 hours

Retrace your steps along forested trails and river crossings to reach Lukla. Celebrate your climb with your team in the evening.

Day 14 :

Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu

Take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing day or farewell dinner.
