Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek

Take a scenic domestic flight to Bhadrapur, located in eastern Nepal near the Indian border. This lowland town serves as the gateway to the Kanchenjunga region.

Enjoy a full-day drive through hilly terrain, lush tea gardens, and rural settlements to reach Taplejung – the starting point of the adventure.

Continue your journey along rugged mountain roads, passing through villages like Chiruwa and Lelep before reaching Sekathum, where the trek officially begins.

Begin your trek by following the Ghunsa Khola upstream. The trail climbs steadily through forests and across ridges to the small settlement of Amjilasa.

Ascend through scenic bamboo and rhododendron forests, enjoying views of cascading waterfalls. Reach Gyabla, a peaceful Tibetan-style village.

A gradual and rewarding ascent brings you to Ghunsa, the largest Sherpa village in the region, complete with prayer flags, a monastery, and yak pastures.

Rest and explore the surrounding area. Take a short acclimatization hike to nearby ridges for panoramic views and better altitude adaptation.

Trek through high-altitude pine forests and past landslide zones with spectacular views of Mt. Jannu and the surrounding peaks.

Continue through glacial moraines and alpine terrain to reach the windswept plateau of Lhonak. The dramatic landscapes begin to feel truly Himalayan.

Start early to hike to Pangpema, the North Base Camp of Kanchenjunga, offering awe-inspiring views of the third-highest mountain in the world. After spending time at the base, return to Lhonak.

Retrace your steps through the alpine valley, descending safely back to the familiar and welcoming village of Ghunsa.

Climb steadily through forested trails and yak pastures to reach the remote Sele La Camp. This marks the transition from the north to the south side of the Kanchenjunga massif.

Cross the Sele La and Sinion La passes with magnificent Himalayan vistas all around. After a scenic ridge walk, descend into the Yalung Valley to reach Cheram.

Continue trekking through yak grazing fields and glacial terrain to reach the high alpine camp of Ramche, a stunning area surrounded by snow peaks.

Early morning hike to Oktang Viewpoint for breathtaking views of the South Face of Kanchenjunga and surrounding glaciers. Return to Ramche for the night.

Begin descending into forested valleys with moss-covered trees and frequent birdlife. Tortong lies deep in the lower Yalung Valley.

A long day of descent through lush forests and over suspension bridges leads you back to Sekathum, completing your loop of the Kanchenjunga Circuit.

Drive south to the beautiful hill town of Ilam, famous for its tea gardens and rolling green landscapes.

Enjoy a relaxing drive through scenic countryside back to Bhadrapur in preparation for your return flight.

Take a morning flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.
